Been wondering how to use FB in your Blog?
I have only just set up my first Facebook page for one of my sites and to be honest it was a bloody nightmare. How they manage to make it so difficult to do is beyond me. Once learned it is simplicity itself and since I now know how to do it I will tell you in a moment. And I actually set up my second business page for a niche in the time it took to write the bullet points below, simples!
What I have realized, and very late too, is that although I have no interest in being on Facebook for my niche sites, and I won’t be, it provides a lot of social validation to your visitors. If I can have the Facebook social plugin on my sidebar with a link to my business page then I get social proof.
My visitors will come to my site and see that I have a Facebook presence and that there are thousands of people who are on Facebook who have taken the time to click the “like” button to say that they recommend my services.
Once you have made your Facebook page, which is different to a normal account, you need 25 fans and then you can change the url to a keyword. This should not be overlooked. If you set it up nicely and pick your main keyword then you have a very SEO friendly url that will show up in the search engines.
I am seeing more and more Facebook pages show up in the SERPS so it is time to build one. With a good landing page when visitors arrive on it you can direct the traffic to your site and they will be confident that you are a real genuine business with a lot of followers. And how do you think your site would fare if you could rank your Facebook Fan Page beneath your own domain on positions 1 and 2 in the search engines?
